Kathalise "smokey" Martin
That's smokey! hahaha. The comic smokey!!
This page is dedicated to a very special lady, Kathalise, aka Smokey.
We have had a few great years here together on line, in various groups.
I knew when I first met Kathalise, she was special. We have been in some
groups that petered out, but we always found each other in another one.
Smokey's favorite color is green, her favorite song is Amazing Grace,
so that's the tune I put on here. Smoke IS Amazing Grace!
Smokey, as I have named her, has been battling cancer for the past 3 plus
years. She had extensive chemo and radiation treatments, not once, but
three times. She was doing well, and in late 2005 it was back. More chemo and
radiation!! In January 2006, she was having more problems and went for scans.
The cancer is now in her brain, front left lobe. She will see the radiologist
to see if anything can slow the growth. They gave her this pinpoint
radiation to the front left lobe of her brain to try and shink it.
On March 23, 2006 she saw her doctor, Dr Crews, and was told that
the chemo is doing her no good, and perhaps hampering it.
Sight in right eye is almost gone, she has lost her taste buds, everything
tastes like cardboard, literally she says. She falls easily, and has trouble
getting up because her arms and legs are weak.
The Doctors prognosis: three to six months.
On April 6, 2006, Smokey saw her doctors, and they decided that
the treatments will stop now. The chemo and radiation is making
things much worse on her than helping her. She wants 3 or 4 months being happy
instead of 4 or 5 months in constant pain and suffering.
I understand with you totally Smokey.
Kathalise has been living on the shore of North Carolina. Her and hubby
loved it there. Now that she just has a few months, they are moving
to Alabama, to be close to family. Here's some pic's of NC.
 
 
Kathalise, I love you lady. You have been though so much. I can only
support you in spirit, keep you in my prayers. You'll always be right here,
in my heart, and thoughts. I love ya Smokey, till we meet again.
